academic capstone project
Halcyon Years aims to end homelessness and housing instability through a focus on empowerment, education, and engagement of youth with values of financial literacy and community enrichment.
Halcyons’ long-term goal is to reduce the harm of the societal structural failures that ultimately reinforce this complex issue by expanding upon local affordable housing options and resolving income disparities.
The Halcyon Years Community Center incorporates functional, modular, and collaborative spaces to create an environment for gathering, learning, and community elevation. Here, the administrative team can focus on growth while educational and amenity spaces supply a blank canvas for community healing and rejuvenation. short-term youth residential units will be developed and later revealed during phase II of the design synthesis process.
